Inevitability or choice?

Is love an inevitability? Or is it a choice?

Mauli answered – love is inevitable. Togetherness is a choice.

Witnessing the urge to be with you
I answered, running forth into your arms
Witnessing the urge to hold your hand
Body answered, sharing its warmth
Witnessing the urge to feel one with you
Voice sang, to merge into your essence once more
Witnessing the urge to recall innocence
Experience answered, diving into childhood
Witnessing the urge to share this joy of having found you
Words answered, turning into these lines
Witnessing choice, it turned into inevitability
Expressing itself through memory
Witnessing the need for music
I churned within, humming an ancient melody
Witnessing the need to read
I wrote a story unheard about me
Witnessing the trappings of karma
I strove to find service to bless those I felt trapped with
Witnessing the need for truth
All I found were lies
Witnessing the need to be safe
Politics emerged as a defence of the mind
Witnessing the acceptance of all
Hari emerged as a man and woman in my life
Witnessing my jealous side
Humanness emerged as a face of love
Witnessing my mother’s insanity
Hatred emerged for this human mind
Alas, witnessing all of this life
Reverence emerged for watching me silently.
